Katie's slice of paradise is Ross on the West Coast of NZ. Katie's sent us her #myslice picks for small town, West Coast exploring.
What's so cool about your slice of NZ: We have mountains on the back door and the Tasman sea on the doorstep! Never a shortage of places to explore.
Best spot for coffee/lunch? The Hokitika Sandwich Company does a good strong brew with cream (yum) and a wicked sandwich.
Best spot for a bevvy: Either around a bonfire on the beach, above the clouds watching a sunset or at The Empire Hotel in Ross. An awesome small town pub any night but is super good on jam night.
If my aunties were visiting I'd take them to: Bald Hill, Ross's best kept secret. 3 hour walk up to the tussock, firstly following an old pack track with mining relics before heading up the ridge. Either that or just through the paddock and along the beach for some mussels!
Place/s you like to play/explore regularly: Huge fan of taking the dogs down to the beach for the evening, but obviously with a fine weekend on my hands
