What makes Cactus Merino so bloody epic?

What makes Cactus Merino so bloody epic?

The Sheep

Our wool is shorn from happy, healthy sheep from across Australasia.

The Fabric Mill

The wool is passed over to our mates at ABMT Textiles - a sustainable, ethical fabric mill who have 15+ years experience working with merino fibres. They knit, dye and finish the fabric at their Melbourne-based mill.

The mill we work with has the below certifications:

  • OekoTex 100 Australian Certified Organic
  • ISO9001 – Quality Management System (Aus)
  • ISO14001 – Environmental Management System (Aus)
  • Responsible Wool Standard - Fully Certified to the RWS
  • Fairtrade Certified – Organic Cotton

This pretty much means they're not only pros at their job, but they're kind to their people and the planet too. A non-negotiable in the Cactus supply chain.

The Construction

Finally, our good mates at Albion Clothing work their magic to sew our merino tops together right here in Christchurch, New Zealand. We even make our Fitted Beanies from the off-cuts! #upcycling

Our socks are made by the team at The New Zealand Sock Company in Ashburton, and our Knitted Beanies at Beverly Productions in Tauranga.

Voila! Cactus merino.
