These are Cactus's answer to 'softer' shorts. These have been through some rigorous wear testing and we have come to the firm conclusion that they are the ultimate summer go-to shorts for cycling, tramping and heading to the beach.
The SOS's are the shorts version of our Womens SOS Trousers. The same cut and fit, only shorter.
They're made from a lighter, polycotton drill fabric, which has mechanical stretch and is super durable - and our idea of durable is based on the Cactus Supershorts so we don't make that claim lightly.
Great features like quick drying fabric and mesh pockets, ideal for water drainage post jetty jumping. Triple stitched crotch. YKK zip and of course they come with our lifetime warranty on materials and workmanship.
Available in black only.
Made right here in NZ.

- If you would like your SOS Shorts hemmed to be shorter then you need to add Hem Shorter to this order where you can specify the length.

Please note that custom length shorts and trousers cannot be returned so please choose and measure carefully - call or email us if you are not sure.

A Cactus skirt? Don't worry, we're not having an identity crisis... Cactus are still totally focused on making fully functional and incredibly tough outdoor gear - this time in the form of the Superskirt.
This beautifully crafted A-line activewear skirt is built to serve a certain kind of woman - the Cactus woman. Active in the outdoors and always on the move, a Cactus lass needs something functional yet tidy so she can go straight from the garden to the pub, or from working on her feet to refueling at a cafe.
Made from our lighter and less stiff CNC fabric - this outdoor work skirt is incredibly durable, but soft and easier to wear. It has front and back pockets (and not those ridiculous fake ones like some skirts), sturdy buttons and a YKK zip.
Every superwoman should ditch the cape and get a Superskirt - it's much more practical.
Available in any colour as long as it's black.
- Practical and flattering knee-length
- A-line shape with a back split for movement
- Nice wide band for comfort
- Semi-relaxed fit, should sit approx. 3-5cm below the belly button
- Front and back pockets
- Button and zip closure
CNC fabric - 65% polyester, 35% cotton

Made locally right here in Christchurch, NZ, a Cactus tee is not just any old t-shirt and this print has an especially cool backstory. The 1992 Tee is a reboot of one of the first tees Cactus ever made, way back in 1992.
"Back in the early 90s, Cactus was founded as a way to keep a few folk from having to get real jobs and in an effort to provide the best locally-crafted apparel and backpacks to our people. One of those people was Mr D Best, otherwise known as Tobius D. The Cactus Climbing and Space Exploration was our first ever print and was a play on words (a backpack is, after all, an enclosed space. Thus Cactus was all about exploring space.) 30 years later, the only things that have changed are our PO Box and phone number - we're still exploring space and still doing it 100% here in New Zealand." - Ben Kepes, Founder
