A few months back while visiting the team at NZSockCo, Jared enlightened us to the fact that coloured socks were included in their offering. It was a fair point, other than our Mahi Socks, everything else on offer was black - boring black as a frequent customer of ours, Dave, calls it.
We raced back to Christchurch and flicked some designs through. A few months later and our new Tibia Socks were here. A little bit different, but something perfect for those who like a bit of colour in their lives.
In the early 90's in Wellington there were two communities - climbing and mountain biking. The Cactus Crew would make product during the week, and weekends were for hitching to various crags and races around the country. On the shores of Whanganui Bay in Lake Taupo, there is a climb known as the Tibia. Many moons ago, founders, Gwilym, Rob and Ben spent a fair chunk of time climbing the Tibia, and we thought it apt to name the sock after it. A nod to the simpler days.
Looks best with a Merino LS T-Shirt and a pair of Hangdog Shorts.
