Due to popular demand we bring you Slim Fit Supertrousers. These will tuck into your gumboots easier, hook up less and are just as hardcore as your standard Supertrousers. Apart from the slimmer fit the only other difference to standard Supertrousers is a new waist band for added comfort. They also look really stylish around town ... and we're okay with that.

Note that the colour will lighten with use and washing as the natural cotton content of the fabric won't take a dye fixative in the same way as a 100% synthetic fabric.

Our Premium C-Canvas is just as hard wearing as the classic Cactus Ultra C-Canvas, but has a more comfortable finishing weave, so requires less breaking in time.

Cactus Supertrousers might just be the world’s best general purpose trousers and they’re made right here in NZ. These trousers can handle a shortcut through the gorse, nailing up some framing, or fitting the chains on the access road. In keeping with the theme of ‘staple’ gear for Kiwis, we bring you the Cactus Checked Flannel Shirt. Now complete and glowing with awesomeness we’re all wondering why we took so long to make these.

From the tradie go-to work top, to the urbanite’s default classic and the weekend warrior’s dash-and-grab favourite, the flannel shirt has to be one of the most versatile items of clothing.

The Trade Supershorts are a true, fully featured work short for those who's work demands it. We've taken the Trade Supertrousers kept all the best bits and removed everything below the knee. Your essentials are all close at hand with dedicated pockets for a cellphone, ruler, and punches or measuring tape and a reinforced hammer loop that stands out for easy use. The large main pockets at the waist are external so the contents don’t get in the way so much when you crouch down. Those pockets are tough enough for a handful of nails or screws occasionally, but we’ve tried crouching down with screws in our pockets and it isn’t that pleasant. Two full size pockets at the back give you a place for the “can you just pick some stuff up from the supermarket on your way home” shopping list. The belt loops are wide enough to take a full width equipment belt.

Built in ultra tough 3 layer WTF-3 fabric, with real exterior pockets and no bogus lighter-weight pocket linings that leak, this heavy duty jacket will protect you from the elements with way more durability than your average cut-price waterproof/breathable garment.

"I thought the fit of the jacket was spot on. The storm flap definitely did the job of keeping snow out of the pocket - even when I forgot to zip it up I didn't loose any goodies from the pocket. I really like having no hip pockets, as there is nothing to hinder and bunch up when bending at the hip. The pockets were sufficient for carrying all the stuff I needed for ski patrolling. Another feature I thought was pretty tiptop is the foldaway collar, it works nicely when snow is blowing everywhere."

"I was surprised at how well this thing breathes given how burly the fabric is. I never got hot skiing in it, and it’s obviously gonna last forever. Hangdog Shorts are a reinvention of our classic Hangdog climbing shorts from the 90s. Only nowadays they've been revamped to suit to a more holistic, lifestyle-based approach to recreating outdoors.

The Hooded Jacket is a logical step from our Supertrousers. Crafted from the same Premium C-Canvas and lined with our polyester microfibre fleece this jacket is a tough customer for winter living. Due to the heavy fabrics we've darted the arms and gusseted the back of the shoulders so you can get your arms down near your body. Just when you thought that we had thought of everything, we've taken things a step further and introduced yet another member to the Supertrouser family. A denim version. But in true Cactus form, this isn't any ordinary denim. Made from a tough, Dyneema denim, these pants have potential to become the greatest looking pair of denim trousers you ever put on. Like the Canvas Supertrousers, after about 6 months of hard wear and tear, they will have taken on that feeling of a second skin and look like they were made especially for you.

Because Cactus customers demand more than a pair of jeans to drink a latte in, we needed to find a fabric that could withstand a bit of a thrashing. This is why we went for the Dyneema Denim which is 4x more abrasion resistant than normal cotton denim. The inclusion of high-tenacity nylon fiber helps resist tears, rips and punctures. 

These are a different fit to the Canvas Supertrouser pattern and are the result of some serious trials and wear testing to make sure we nailed it. The fit is slim (but not skinny) and has a lower rise and fit more like a jean than a canvas Supertrouser.

So if you're one of those guys who finds buying denim (jeans) a nightmare, look no further - these will tick all of the boxes and fit like nothing else. You can count on Cactus to get it right.

These come hemmed to a standard length – see the 'Sizing' tab above.

If you need them hemmed shorter, we can do this for you. Just send them back to us – after you've washed them – with a note specifying the length you'd like them hemmed to. To work this out, measure your leg inseam – this is from your crotch to the floor, in bare feet. There is a charge for hemming.

Or you can hem them yourself. You do not require a heavy duty sewing machine for our denim, unlike our canvas. 

Going down on one knee might be a romantic gesture, but spending lots of your work day on your knees is less so, and can take it’s toll on your and your pants. That’s why we make the Trade Plus Supertrousers, a true fully-featured work pant in Ultra C-Canvas with Kevlar-reinforced kneepads.

Crouch and engage with external main pockets at the waist - the contents displace away from your body. The pockets are tough enough to handle an occasional handful of nails or screws as well. Two full size pockets at the back give you a place for that bit of ply with the crucial measurements written on it and your pie money, and the belt loops are wide enough to take a full width equipment belt. We’ve also added ample dedicated pockets for a cellphone, ruler, and punches or measuring tape, and two reinforced hammer loops that stands out from your leg for easy use. We're confident those who need work pants this tough and this protective will really appreciate them.

Cactus's answer to 'softer' shorts. These have been through some rigorous wear testing and we have come to the firm conclusion that they are the ultimate summer go-to shorts for biking, tramping and heading to the beach. 

The SOS's are the shorts version of our SOS Trousers. The same cut and fit, only shorter. 

They're made from a lighter, polycotton drill fabric, which has mechanical stretch and is super durable - and our idea of durable is based on the Cactus Supershorts so we don't make that claim lightly. 

Great features like quick drying fabric and mesh pockets, ideal for water drainage post jetty jumping. Triple stitched crotch. YKK zip and of course they come with our lifetime warranty on faulty materials and workpersonship.
