Due to popular demand we bring you Slim Fit Supertrousers. These will tuck into your gumboots easier, hook up less and are just as hardcore as your standard Supertrousers. Apart from the slimmer fit the only other difference to standard Supertrousers is a new waist band for added comfort. They also look really stylish around town ... and we're okay with that.

Note that the colour will lighten with use and washing as the natural cotton content of the fabric won't take a dye fixative in the same way as a 100% synthetic fabric.

Our Premium C-Canvas is just as hard wearing as the classic Cactus Ultra C-Canvas, but has a more comfortable finishing weave, so requires less breaking in time.

In Nepal, the Sherpa take on a myriad of tasks - guiding, carrying, cooking and cajoling Westerners on their journeys. When designing our new insulated jacket, these were the attributes we wanted to emulate.

Like every Cactus product, the Norbu (named after a guide during one of our Himalayan sojourns) is a simple, solid, subtle and utterly reliable product. We’ve always been about making good sh*t that lasts a long time and the Norbu is no different.

Using synthetic insulation means it is more tolerant to a bit of moisture - be it rain from the outside or sweat from within. As you’d expect, it sports legendary tough YKK zips and our proprietary “tough arse” reinforcement.

Most importantly, it was designed with our 30-plus years of engineering know-how, and all the long-lasting Cactus toughness that brings. 

Cactus Supertrousers might just be the world’s best general purpose trousers and they’re made right here in NZ. These trousers can handle a shortcut through the gorse, nailing up some framing, or fitting the chains on the access road. On the flip side they are just as sweet for waiting for your fix at the local coffee cart, stylin’ at a BBQ, or sitting in the office dreaming of better things. Tired of waterproof breathable jackets that wear out? The Cactus Mountain Jacket is for you. Built in ultra tough 3 layer WTF-3 fabric, with real exterior pockets and no bogus lighter-weight pocket linings that leak, this heavy duty jacket will protect you from the elements with way more durability than your average cut-price waterproof/breathable garment.

Here's what our testers thought of it:

"I thought the fit of the jacket was spot on. The storm flap definitely did the job of keeping snow out of the pocket - even when I forgot to zip it up I didn't loose any goodies from the pocket. I really like having no hip pockets, as there is nothing to hinder and bunch up when bending at the hip. The pockets were sufficient for carrying all the stuff I needed for ski patrolling. Another feature I thought was pretty tiptop is the foldaway collar, it works nicely when snow is blowing everywhere."

"I was surprised at how well this thing breathes given how burly the fabric is. I never got hot skiing in it, and it’s obviously gonna last forever. Had a couple of stormy days in it on the mountain, it was totally wind and snow proof and the fabric didn’t soak, so it stayed supple yet bombproof in nasty weather."

In keeping with the theme of ‘staple’ gear for Kiwis, we bring you the Cactus Checked Flannel Shirt. Now complete and glowing with awesomeness we’re all wondering why we took so long to make these.

From the tradie go-to work top, to the urbanite’s default classic and the weekend warrior’s dash-and-grab favourite, the flannel shirt has to be one of the most versatile items of clothing.

The Trade Supershorts are a true, fully featured work short for those who's work demands it. We've taken the Trade Supertrousers kept all the best bits and removed everything below the knee. Your essentials are all close at hand with dedicated pockets for a cellphone, ruler, and punches or measuring tape and a reinforced hammer loop that stands out for easy use. The large main pockets at the waist are external so the contents don’t get in the way so much when you crouch down. Those pockets are tough enough for a handful of nails or screws occasionally, but we’ve tried crouching down with screws in our pockets and it isn’t that pleasant. Two full size pockets at the back give you a place for the “can you just pick some stuff up from the supermarket on your way home” shopping list. The belt loops are wide enough to take a full width equipment belt.

Hangdog Shorts are a reinvention of our classic Hangdog climbing shorts from the 90s. Only nowadays they've been revamped to suit to a more holistic, lifestyle-based approach to recreating outdoors.

Hangdog Shorts are made from a soft but durable polycotton drill fabric that also has a wee bit of mechanical stretch. We've rigorously wear-tested these by spending heaps of time out biking and climbing in the Port Hills. Product development can be a hard job eh, but someone's gotta do it! The Hooded Jacket is a logical step from our Supertrousers. Crafted from the same Premium C-Canvas and lined with our polyester microfibre fleece this jacket is a tough customer for winter living. Due to the heavy fabrics we've darted the arms and gusseted the back of the shoulders so you can get your arms down near your body.
