Same Norbu guts. Slightly tidier neckline.
The Womens Norbu Collared is for those who want all the warmth, toughness and reliability of the Norbu, but without the hood getting in the way. A bit cleaner. A bit sharper. Still very much built for real life.
Like its hooded sibling, this jacket is named after a Sherpa guide from one of our Himalayan trips and built in the same spirit: dependable, understated and ready to get stuck in. It uses hard-wearing synthetic insulation that keeps performing when conditions get a bit damp, and it’s packed with the practical stuff that matters - strong YKK zips, tough arse reinforcement, and a no-nonsense build refined over three decades of making gear that earns its keep.
The women’s fit is shaped at the waist to reduce bulk and gives more room through the hips, so it feels better on and works better in motion.
The outer fabric has a 10,000mm waterproof rating, which means it will handle wind, light rain and changeable conditions well. But because the seams are not seam sealed, this is not a fully waterproof jacket. In steady or prolonged rain, water can eventually get in through the seams. Think of it as a tough, weather resistant insulated layer rather than a rain shell.
A good jacket should do its job without carrying on about it. This one does exactly that.
