In Nepal, the Sherpa are the real all-rounders - guiding, hauling, cooking and generally keeping things moving when everyone else is running out of puff. That’s the spirit behind the Norbu.
Named after a guide from one of our Himalayan missions, the Womens Norbu Hooded is a simple, solid and bloody reliable insulated jacket. No gimmicks. No fluff. Just a hardworking layer built to get worn properly.
Like the men’s version, it uses synthetic insulation, so it handles a bit of moisture better than your average precious puffer - whether that’s drizzle from the outside or sweat from the inside. It’s finished with legendary tough YKK zips, our proprietary tough arse reinforcement, and the kind of design details that come from 30-plus years of engineering gear for people who are hard on it.
The women’s fit has been properly thought through too: shaped through the waist to cut bulk, with a bit more ease through the hips so it moves better and sits better when you’re actually using it.
The outer fabric has a 10,000mm waterproof rating, which means it will handle wind, light rain and changeable conditions well. But because the seams are not seam sealed, this is not a fully waterproof jacket. In steady or prolonged rain, water can eventually get in through the seams. Think of it as a tough, weather resistant insulated layer rather than a rain shell.
Warm, tough and built to last. Exactly how we like it.
